once a week

Me and a few others are doing a subject of the week. We have to take pictures of the subject and then post the one we like the best on our blogs every Friday. This weeks subject was doors. So I took a picture of my car door. If you would like to see all the others picture of the subject then just look to the side under 'photo subject friends'.

Music to the soul

You know how sometimes you'll just pick up a random CD in a store and it just speaks to you. That hasn't happened to me in a long time. I think that the last time that happened was with Switchfoot when I was 15. So this is just one of the songs from the CD by Marie` Digby. Pronounced Mar-ee-ay.

Quote of the day

Quayde to the neighbors as we are getting into the car.

Q: " Good morning!"
N: "......................."
Q: "Good morning!"
N: "........................"
Me: " Quayde, it's not morning. It's 4:15"
Q: "So? Good morning neighbors!"

I can't wait to see his humor as he grows.

Last day of seminary!

Yes. It was the last day of seminary today. Good year, good friends, good quotes.

Fun with Carrie

I just wanted to post about the fun that I had with my Aunt Carrie. She is a new photographer and is putting together a portfolio to show to clients. She wanted to 'shoot' me I was so beautiful. hehe. Here are some that I took from her blog.

This one was funny cause Carrie is telling me that I am not a boy so I don't have to sit like that. My reply was that most of my friends are guys and it is just natural for me to sit like that. And see! It looks good. Looks like me.

This was at the college on a bench. I think it was the only metal I was on that wasn't completely sweltering! We were in the sculpture garden, thus the hot metal.

We broke into the trolley that is next to the institute building and got fun ones in and on there. This is the one that I liked the best.
When we were at the college Carrie told me sit on a window a little off the path. WELL! We didn't know that there was a class in session when I went to sit on it! A whole class of people were laughing at us and waving jauntily. I waved back... what else was I to do!??!
Just saying Carrie that I had lots of fun and loved spending time with you in fun places.

yeah! we wish

This is the supposed car of the future! Here is part of the article that I read the other night.
"So you're excited about the 2010 Prius, with its modest mileage gains. Or maybe you really want a Chevy Volt, with a 40 mile all-electric range. 2010, as we've noted, is going to be a good year for green cars. But, well, this is ridiculous.VW has been talking for a long time about their L1 concept, so called because it uses a measly 1 liter of gasoline to go 100 km. For us Americans, that translates to about 230 miles per gallon. Of course, the amazing mileage comes at a price. The car is tiny, more of a tobaggon than a car. The single passenger actually sits behind the driver, like in a small airplane.
The tiny engine will only get the car up to about 75 mph and, as such, VW doesn't expect to sell a lot of them. Safety concerns might also keep the car from being a best seller."
Might keep it? AKA might not even hit the streets.

Art Museum

I have always loved art of all kinds. I would look through art books all the time when I was younger just for fun. So when we heard about the Masterpiece Replayed at the Phx Art Museum we knew that it would be a once in a life time thing. The really cool thing about the exhibit is that it was only shown in Phx and one place in Washington. So to say that it was once in a life time is almost literal.
This picture was painted by Jean Leon Gerome. Called 'Duel after the masked ball' painted in 1857. It was one of my favorites because it was one I haven't seen before. I had seen painting of Gerome's but not this one and wasn't surprised to learn that it was by him.
I am so glad that I had this opportunity to see all of them and learn more by getting up close. Literally, the guards were watching me closely. :)
